I hate the word homophobia.
It is not a phobia.
You are not scared.
You are just an asshole.
But phobia also refers to hatred, though that definition is far less common. I dunno, I find it linguistically sound, but from a colloquial English standpoint I can see why it wouldn’t be adequate.
Phobia also has a less commonly known definition than hatred, even. It can refer to a sensitivity to something. People with migraines often experience photophobia and phonophobia; a sensitivity to light and sounds, respectively.

On the subject of spirit animals, it really irks me when people think they found their spirit animal because they “really like wolves and connect with them” or “I act a lot like a dog because I’m friendly and loyal, so that must be my spirit animal!” :I
It’s like…you can’t decide what your spirit animal or totem or whatever is. It has to reveal itself to you on a deep, emotional level, usually through dreams or meditation. They’re supposed to be guides for you and help you learn things about yourself.
(Also, the amount of people with wolves as their “spirit animal”? Really? It’s like 80% of the teenage girl population.)
